KOHLER, Wis. – KOHLER® is proud to be expanding its durable lineup of Command Pro® single cylinder, horizontal-shaft engines with new 4.5 and 5.5 horsepower models. The two new engines are designed with industry-standard dimensions, offering equipment manufactures the convenience of a “drop-in” design. For the benefit of rental customers and other end users, the new engines also feature a large-capacity fuel tank for longer runtimes as well as Kohler’s exclusive Quad-Clean™ all-season, four-stage cyclonic air filter, which provides advanced engine protection in tough-and-dirty conditions.
“These new engines are in the sweet-spot for powering a wide variety of equipment found around most jobsites,” said Cam Litt, marketing manager for KOHLER Engines. “We’ve integrated several design features to deliver longer runtimes, all-weather performance, and the overall reliability required by today’s users. Plus, we’re backing both models with our limited three-year commercial warranty for added peace-of-mind.”
Other notable features incorporated into the new 4.5 and 5.5 horsepower KOHLER Command Pro engines include: a new twist-off air cleaner cover for easy maintenance; an electronic ignition and advanced combustion system to reduce fuel consumption; cast-iron cylinder liners, dual ball bearings and a forged crankshaft for long engine life; and Kohler’s innovative Oil Sentry™ system, which automatically shuts the engine down in low-oil conditions.
