The potentials of K-HEM

October 2021 – This autumn is marked by a return to trade shows, and for the hybrid units of the Kohler K-HEM Series it’s a real debut. At EIMA International, the K-HEM 1003 and K-HEM 2504 will be on display at the Kohler stand (15/A17), but the big news will be the presence of CEOL, Agreenculture’s autonomous agricultural robot remote-controlled via GPS, on which the K-HEM 1003 will be installed starting in 2022.
Agreenculture, a French manufacturer of autonomous agricultural solutions, has been working with Kohler for some time on the development of a product that aims to raise the bar for the level of technology available to the agricultural industry. Like other manufacturers, Agreenculture was quick to embrace the features of the K-HEM 1003 hybrid unit, which is perfect for this type of application.
EIMA visitors will be able to see the first version of Agreenculture’s CEOL at the stands of Nobili SpA (25/A20) and Volentieri Pellenc Srl (29/B10).
“We found Kohler to be a valid support for taking the CEOL robot to a further stage of development, and we are convinced that it will be a new benchmark in terms of innovation and technology,” said Christophe Aubé, Founder and President of Agreenculture.

In this project, the units of the K-HEM family fully demonstrate their extreme flexibility. As with the applications developed to date, the K-HEM 1003 shows its adaptability, even in the face of diametrically opposed characteristics of use. In a first version, the system works as a series hybrid, while starting in 2022, it will switch to a parallel configuration, which will activate a hydraulic pump for the required power peaks. The innovation lies in the fact that the machine operates mainly in electric mode, meeting any additional power demands with mechanical energy.

This type of development requires intensive joint work with the manufacturer, demonstrating the strength of the support services that Kohler offers in the design phase. “Once again, Kohler demonstrates that it is the perfect alternative to the traditional market offer for achieving the highest level of technology and innovation. Agreenculture’s autonomous robot is a perfect example of the direction that precision agricultural mechanization has taken,” remarked Vincenzo Perrone, President of Kohler Engines.
