Introducing KOHLER Power Reserve, an energy storage system that keeps your home powered during an outage—and provides energy independence from the grid. For homes with solar panels, Power Reserve stores the solar energy gathered throughout the day and reserves that energy for use whenever you want it. Think of it like an energy bank account where you can make deposits and withdrawals as you see fit.
Power Reserve is comprised of a battery and inverter—and is able to work with both AC and DC electric circuits. These components can be installed indoors (e.g., your garage) or outdoors (e.g., side of the house). And the best of all, Power Reserve is compatible with ANY solar panel installation.
Perfect for those who experience frequent outages or live off-grid, KOHLER Power Reserve can power your critical items like refrigerators, computers, TVs, lights, and garage doors. Plus, the system may also provide automated cost savings through energy rate arbitrage and system power flow control.
With KOHLER Power Reserve, you can store excess solar energy throughout the day—and then use that energy to power your home at night. It's the perfect system for people who like saving big on their utility bills.
KOHLER Power Reserve energy storage system is comprised of a long-life LiFePO4 battery, inverter, and optional automatic transfer switch (sold separately). We have three outdoor-rated battery options (10, 15, 20kWh providing up to 7.6kW of maximum power output) to choose from to meet your power needs. And all three feature a modular design which allows them to be customized for even greater power storage and installation flexibility.
AC- and DC-coupled options are also available. And all our batteries include a
AC- and DC-coupling refers to the way solar panels are coupled or linked to an energy storage or battery system. KOHLER Power Reserve offers both an AC- and DC-coupled solution. So no matter what type of solar installation you're working with, Power Reserve works with them all.
KOHLER Power Reserve is outdoor-rated so it can be installed in your basement, in your garage, on the back of your house. Inside. Outside. Wherever you want it, that's where we'll install it.
Severe weather is the single leading cause of power outages in the United States. The amount and severity of these outages have spiked dramatically over the past decade, causing physical, emotional, and economic hardship for many Americans. Here is a look at the cost of power outages in the U.S.
KOHLER Power Reserve stores energy from solar panels to be used whenever you want, which means you can use your stored energy to power your home during an outage. Or you can use your stored energy as your primary power source to reduce your dependence on the grid and lower your utility bills.
The KOHLER® RDT automatic transfer switch (sold separately) allows the KOHLER Power Reserve system to back up your entire home. Its primary job is to automatically transfer your home's power between the utility grid and your Power Reserve. For example, during an outage your automatic transfer switch will automatically switch from utility power to your Power Reserve. And when the utility power comes back on, it will automatically switch back. And you don't have to do a thing.
